Instead of just treating the illness, nurse practitioners also spend time on treating the whole person.
Nurse Practitioners will provide specialty care in the following areas:
- Acute care
- Adult Care
- Family Care
- Gerontology
- Neonatal
- Oncology
- Pediatrics
- Psychiatry/Mental Health
- and women’s Health, and other.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries.
- Prescribing medication and other treat-ments.
- Managing a patient’s care.
